On Friday, Rugby School Nigeria was honoured to welcome Nankling Danfulani, Trade Adviser for the UK’s Department for Business & Trade at the British High Commission.

Her visit follows the earlier engagement of British Deputy High Commissioner Mr Jonny Baxter, and the school was delighted to update her on the remarkable progress made since then.

Speaking after the visit, Dr Adam England, Principal of Rugby School Nigeria, said:

“It was a privilege to share the story of Rugby School Nigeria with Nankling and to show how far we have come since Mr Baxter’s visit. Her encouragement is a real boost for our team as we approach our opening this September.”

Nankling expressed her delight at the rapid speed of development on the Eko Atlantic site, noting that Rugby School Nigeria is firmly on track to open this September.

She also shared her expectation that a number of high-profile enterprises will be interested in what is being built here, particularly against the backdrop of renewed British investment in Nigeria during the first quarter of 2025.

Dr England added:

“Inclusivity has been a guiding principle in our planning. From the colour scheme to the way our spaces function, we want every child — including those who are neurodivergent — to feel at home here.”

As the school counts down to opening its doors, Nankling confirmed that she will return for the formal  opening.

Dr England concluded:

“We look forward to welcoming Nankling back at the start of our journey, as Rugby School Nigeria begins shaping young lives with the values, heritage, and global perspective that define Rugby School.”
