The Whole Person, The Whole Point

At the heart of Rugby School’s philosophy is the belief that “The Whole Person is the Whole Point.” Beyond academic achievement, students are taught critical thinking, memory skills, goal-setting, and self-awareness – skills that equip them for life beyond school. This ethos is central to Rugby School Nigeria, where we prepare young people in Lagos for success not only at university but in leadership roles worldwide.

A New Chapter in the Rugby School Group

Rugby School Nigeria is the Rugby School Group’s third international sister school.

Located at the heart of the world-class development of Eko Atlantic in Lagos, Rugby School Nigeria is the culmination of over 450 years of British educational heritage with the ambition of offering families the opportunity to access a world-class British curriculum school in Lagos. As part of the prestigious Rugby School Group, students are now able to join a network of leading schools worldwide, with the same dedication to academic achievement, personal growth, and character development that has made Rugby one of the most respected names in education.

The school started in September 2025 as a day school with two-year groups, Year 7 (age 11+) and Sixth Form (Year 12). Over the course of the first academic year, it noted landmark achievements and progress of the school’s construction and project teams, whose dedication has ensured the campus was ready to receive pupils at both entry points. Demand caused us to add on two more year groups, Year 9 and Year 10 in order to cater to our ever-growing school community. As the school approaches the upcoming academic year, we are delighted to open day and boarding options for all year groups from KS3 to KS5 (Year 7 to Year 13).

Intentionality in Design

For parents searching for the best boarding schools in Lagos or considering British curriculum schools in Nigeria, Rugby School Nigeria provides a truly outstanding option. With purpose-built classrooms, science laboratories, sports facilities, and boarding houses, Rugby School Nigeria offers everything expected from a top-tier private school in Eko Atlantic. Visually curated to optimise students learning experience and maximise their ability to focus in and out of the classroom, great care was taken in even the smallest detail of the school’s build. Colour, lighting, soundproofing of standard classrooms, world-class material and equipment for specialised learning spaces and more, were part of the vision that was masterfully executed in 2025 and 2026.

Preparing Students for World-Class Universities

The objective with Sixth Form at Rugby School Nigeria was to prepare students for admission to the world’s leading universities, making it a natural choice for families seeking an international outlook. At the same time, with the lower years, we planned deliver a broad and balanced education that supports creativity, curiosity, and confidence.

We were able to deliver on this and then some in our inaugural academic year; with some of our sixth formers attaining early prestigious admission, already heading out to international spaces. Our younger students have also shown great personal and academic strides in the one year they’ve been with us.

Whether you are looking for a boarding school in Lagos, a day school in Eko Atlantic, or one of the leading private schools in Nigeria following the British curriculum, Rugby School Nigeria stands apart as a school designed for excellence.
